If there is a person at UIS who probably knows nearly everyone on campus, it has to be Mailing Equipment Operator Eric Needham. Sun, rain, or snow, Eric always makes sure departments receive their mail in a timely fashion, while also brightening the days of the people he meets. It is for these reasons he has been selected as the University of Illinois Springfield Employee of the Month for February 2015.
One of the qualities about Eric most mentioned by his colleagues is that he goes out of his way to make their jobs easier. His supervisor writes, "If there is something that needs to be done, Eric will do it, or volunteer to do it, even though it may be outside the scope of his duties. He wants to make sure I'm taking my days off before he takes any vacation."
His nominator says Eric takes time to greet everyone on his delivery route, and is always friendly and helpful. "He doesn't hesitate to go out of his way if you need something to be picked up later in the day and will offer to help you in anyway possible," the nominator writes.
"Eric is one of the nicest employees on campus and can always be relied upon."
